What is a city break? I heard that term from a colleague at my work place then I searched the net and I found that this is a pleasant, cheap and easy way to release the pressure in your spare time. After all week working you may need that, so just pack your luggage and leave. Well I need it because I haven’t been on a vacation these days and I needed to escape the noisy and smoky streets of the big city. After doing a little calculation I found out that the cheapest way to do that is camping. The place doesn’t matter you may go everywhere from the beach to the mountain and to make that decision supply yourself with a map.

Of course, for camping you will need the right equipment. If you don’t have any present you will need to buy some. That part you may find expensive but it is cheaper than all other kinds of vacations. The equipment, the food and the fuel to travel will be all of your expenses. I did not have equipment too so I made a ‘’need list’’ and here it is:

1. Tent.
2. Sleeping bags, warm clothes and blankets – when the sun goes down the weather may turn cool and even cold in the mountain.
3. Mat – you will need something to insulate you from the ground and to lie on.
4. Flashlight – it is recommended to get some extra batteries with you - a non working flashlight is useless.
5. Knife and maybe a hatchet – they may be found very useful at any time.
6. Nylon – If you don’t have a waterproof tent and your tent is old it may begin to leak when rain begins to fall. A thin nylon coating will prevent that and you may want to carry some with you just in case.
7. Raincoats – it is very useful to avoid getting wet in the rain especially when you are wearing the only dry clothes you have.
8. Folding chairs and table – you may get some if you have free space left to fit them amongst all the other luggage.

The food you will need on other hand is important also. To avoid problems afterwards choose foods that you may cook easy and fast on a camp fire and to start that fire make sure that you carry a lighter or matches. There are some basic products that are recommended to buy and they are sugar, salt, olive oil, pepper, nuts, canned food and plenty of water.

If you haven’t been on a camp yet go on a public camping side but if there isn’t any local make sure that you place your tent at places protected from sun, wind and rain. You may use the natural protection of the trees. Also make sure that there isn’t anthills, unevenness and dried mud under the tent because if the weather gets rainy the rain water will flow there.
